How to Create Builder and Add Slots?

In this guide, you’ll learn how to create your first builder in Charmi.

Builders allow your customers to create unique, personalized jewelry using an intuitive drag-and-drop experience directly in your store.

Step 1: Add Builder

1. Click Add builder

You should now see the Builder form. Let's quickly review each field.

• Title: Internal name of your builder. Customers won’t see this name. Example: Custom Charm Bracelet
• Status: Controls whether the builder is available in your store:

Draft → customers cannot purchase or checkout

Active → builder is live and ready for customers

• Base collection: Collection containing the products customers will customize, such as bracelets, necklaces, earrings

• Component collection: Collection containing draggable components that can be added to the base product, such as charms, pendants, connectors
• Add-ons: Optional products or services that are added directly to the bundle but are not displayed inside the visual builder. Example: assembly service, gift packaging, extended warranty

Let's complete all required fields and click Save

Step 2: Add Slots

Now it’s time to add slots to your base products.

Slots define where customers can place and arrange components inside the builder.

1. Click the three dots (⋯) → Edit slots

In the editor you should see all variants of base products.

2. Click Add slot to arrange your first slot

3. Click Save

✅ Your first builder Is ready!

You’ve now created your first Charmi builder and configured slots for your base products.
