How to Add Filters to Your Builder?
In this guide, you’ll learn how to add filters to your builder to help customers quickly find the products they’re looking for.

Charmi uses filters created by the Shopify Search and Discovery app.
Why Filters Are Important
Filters improve the shopping experience by helping customers navigate large collection more easily.
With filters, you can:
- Help customers quickly find products they’re interested in
- Create a cleaner and more organized builder experience
- Allow filtering by important attributes such as color, category, material, etc. - you can choose only one filter type
- Increase conversions by helping customers make faster decisions
Step 1: Create Filters in Shopify
You can create filters based on:
- Product type
- Vendor
- Tags
- Product metafields
In this guide, we’ll use tags to create filter for the builder.

First, you need to create a tag filter using Shopify Search & Discovery app.
- Open the Shopify Search and Discovery Filters section and click Add filter

- Click Select source, type 'tags' and select More filters (Source: Tags)

You’ve now selected the filter source - in this case, product tags.
- Now add a filter label (for example, Charm Type)
- Select the tag values related to your component collection (I have added these four tag values across my component collection)

- Click Save
Step 2: Enable Filters in Charmi
We're almost done.
- Open the Charmi app
- Click the three dots (⋯) → Edit storefront settings

- Click at No filter and select tag filter created by you ( in my case 'Charm type')

- Click Save
Let's see how it looks at storefront.

✅ Done!
Your customers can now use filters inside the builder to quickly find the products and create their personalized jewelry faster.
