How to Add Custom Image for Base Product?

A custom image allows you to use a specific optimized image in the builder for the base product.

This is useful when your storefront base product image contains backgrounds, lifestyle photography, or styling that looks great on a product page but may not work well in the builder.

How to Add a Custom Image for the Base Product in the Builder

1. Open the product page of your base product in Shopify

For example, you might have a beautiful lifestyle image displayed in your store, but for the Charmi builder you may want to use a cleaner, more neutral image that provides a better customization experience for your customers.

To do this, you'll need to add a custom image using the Charmi image metafield.

2. Scroll down to the Variant metafields section. Click View all

3. Find the Charmi image metafield and click Select images

4. Upload or select the image you want to use in the builder. Click Done

5. Click Save

✅ Done!

Charmi will now use the custom image inside the builder, while your original product images remain unchanged throughout your store.

This allows you to create a cleaner and more consistent customization experience without affecting your storefront design.
