How to Optimize Component Image Frames?
If a component product image is incorrectly positioned or its size does not accurately reflect the real product, this can lead to a confusing shopping experience. This can make it difficult for customers to visualize what their finished jewelry will actually look like.
Why is this important?
Correctly sized and positioned component product images help:
- Set clear expectations - customers can see what they are ordering
- Show accurate proportions - images are displayed at the correct size relative to each other and the base product
- Reduce returns - customers are less likely to be surprised by the size or appearance of the product they receive
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to resize and position component images to create a more realistic building experience for your customers.
Step 1: Open Storefront Settings
- Click the three dots (⋯)
- Select Edit storefront settings
- Find Optimize component frame and click Open tool
Here you'll see all component product images used in your builder.
As you can see, one component doesn't align with the others. The charm is positioned in the center of its image. This positioning may look great on the product page, but it doesn't work as well in the visual builder.
The charm doesn't connect naturally to the chain, so let's fix it.
Step 2: Adjust the Component Size and Position
First, let's make the charm larger.
- Use the range slider to zoom in until the charm is the right size in relation to the other components
Once you're happy with the size, click and drag the image to reposition it.
- Move the charm toward the top until it is aligned with the other component images
- Click Save
Step 3: Check the Result in Your Store
Now, let's see what the updated image looks like in the builder.
Open the builder and drag the edited component onto the base product.
The charm image is now the correct size and is positioned correctly. It connects naturally to the chain and looks nice alongside other charms.
