How to Add Builder Link to Product or Sell Products Only Within the Builder

In this guide, you’ll learn how to make your products available only inside your box builder.


When customers visit a product page that’s part of your builder, instead of seeing the regular 'Add to cart' button, they’ll see a 'Build your box' button that takes them directly to your builder.


For example, you have a Cookie Box Builder with 8 cookie products - we’ll create a custom product template that hides the “Add to cart” button and replaces it with a 'Build Your Cookie Box' button.




Step 1: Create a New Product Template


  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes
  2. Click Customize to open the theme editor
  3. In the top dropdown menu, select Products, then click Create template




  1. Enter a name for your new template - for example, 'Cookie template' - then click Create template to save



  1. The new template will automatically open in the editor
  2. In the left sidebar, remove the Buy buttons section



You can hide it instead, but removing it is more reliable.


  1. Hover to add a new block, click '+' → Apps → Box Builder Link.



The Box Builder Link button will appear. You can edit the label (for example, 'Build Your Cookie Box') and customize its style.



  1. Click Save to apply your changes.


Step 2: Apply the New Template to Products in the Builder


Now that your new product template is ready, let’s assign it to all the products included in your builder.


  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Products and open one of the products in your builder
  2. In the product’s settings, find the Theme template dropdown (under 'Online store')
  3. Select your newly created template (e.g. 'Cookie template') and click Save

  1. Repeat this process for all products in the builder.


If you have many products, you can apply the new template in bulk using Shopify’s bulk editor.


Step 3. Publish the Products in Boxi


To connect these products to your builder:


  1. Open the Boxi app admin dashboard and select your builder
  2. Go to the Publish section



  1. Navigate to 'Products linking to box builder' and click Browse



  1. Add all the products from your builder that should redirect to it.



  1. Now, check the products in your store.


✅ Done!

That's it. Now, when customers visit any of those product pages, they'll see the 'Build Your Box' button (which redirects them to your builder) instead of 'Add to cart' button.
