Charmi uses filters created by the [__Shopify Search and Discovery__](https://apps.shopify.com/search-and-discovery) app.

|| Filters are available on the Regular plan.
---

**Why Filters Are Important**

Filters improve the shopping experience by helping customers navigate large collection more easily.

With filters, you can:

* Help customers quickly find products they’re interested in
* Create a cleaner and more organized builder experience
* Allow filtering by important attributes such as color, category, material, etc. - you can choose only one filter type
* Increase conversions by helping customers make faster decisions
---

**Step 1: Create Filters in Shopify**

You can create filters based on:

* Product type
* Vendor
* Tags
* Product metafields

In this guide, we’ll use tags to create filter for the builder.

|| All products in component collection should have tags in order to filter them.

First, you need to create a tag filter using Shopify Search & Discovery app.

1. Open the [__Shopify Search and Discovery__](https://apps.shopify.com/search-and-discovery/filters) **Filters** section and click **Add filter**

2. Click **Select source**, type 'tags' and select **More filters** (Source: Tags)

You’ve now selected the filter source - in this case, product tags.

3. Now add a **filter label** (for example, Charm Type)

4. Click **Save**
